St Gregory Catholic School Athletics
St. Gregory Catholic School is a member of the Catholic Youth Athletic Association (C.Y.A.A). This interscholastic athletic program is an integral part of the education program. The interscholastic athletic program must be in harmony with the educational objectives of the school. Any interscholastic athletic activity should teach:
.... an individual to be a responsible and contributing team member.
.... selfless effort in working with others to reach a common goal.
.... appreciation of others efforts, whether they be teammates, opponents, officials, or
coaches.
.... an ability to keep activities and games in proper perspective.
St. Gregory Catholic School’s mission statement is to promote Christian Values and Pursue Excellence in Education; therefore student-athletes must receive grades of “C” or higher to remain eligible for sports.
All of our student-athletes attend a staff monitored study hall after school before practice and/or a game. This gives our student-athletes the time to complete homework and other at-home studies.
St. Gregory Catholic School offers the following C.Y.A.A. sports for 5th – 8th grades:
Fall Season: Boys Flag Football & Girls Volleyball
Winter Season: Boys Basketball & Girls Softball
Spring Season: Boys Baseball & Girls Basketball
